A childminder can not be legally responsible for providing home education for your child, however, it is acceptable for them to oversee 'homework'.
I am an Ofsted registered childminder with a strong focus on being outdoors. Although I do not home educate myself at present, my nieces are homeschooled and I completely understand that mainstream education is not suitable for all children, for a variety of reasons. My spaces for pre-school aged children are mostly full at present, however I feel it could be a huge benefit to the young children and older to spend time together, outdoors as much as possible. We can all learn from each other no matter how young or old we are, and of course learning is not just about maths and English but about social skills, nurturing those around us and learning that people come in all shapes and sizes, with different interests and ideas and that that not only is ok but it is a good thing. We are individuals and that should be celebrated!
I charge £5 per hour with a minimum attendance time of 5 hours from 9.30-2.30, and am open Monday to Thursday.
