I’m an Ofsted registered childminder and happy to have 2 kids between the ages of 5 and 8. I can offer home education as I also tutor but your child will have to be able to work somewhat independently as also have up to 3 little ones. Lots of outings so might be ideal for someone who likes the idea of unschooling. Have experience with special needs like autism, adhd and downs syndrome.
I am an Ofsted registered Childminder based in Braintree, Essex, living with my husband and two young children (aged 1 and 3). I am able to accommodate children of all ages including those whom are home educated, and can work with parents to provide learning opportunities to suit individual interests and needs.
I previously volunteered as a teaching assistant for several primary schools whilst working full time for Kent Police in a civilian role, providing the opportunity to discover how much I enjoy working with children. Although I enjoyed volunteering as a teaching assistant I wanted the freedom to be my own boss and to explore different approaches in how best to assist children in reaching their full potential. I therefore decided to become a childminder, and hope to expand my services to tutor children primary school aged and below.
My aim is to provide a safe, caring, ‘home from home’, inclusive environment for children and to provide stimulating activities to support their continued learning and development. My setting is fully equipped to care for children, including a wide range of toys, books, puzzles, games and opportunities for both adult led and child led play. We have a tee-pee, play kitchen, table and chairs for children to use, play mats for young babies and a large garden for children to enjoy with a wide selection of garden toys and opportunities for outdoor play. Children will also have the opportunity to grow their own fruit and veg in our new vegetable patch and use their produce to assist in creating their own meals.
In addition to the learning opportunities I can provide within my home I am also within walking distance to many children’s groups including those held at the Carousel Children’s Centre in Braintree, Braintree Library and St Paul’s Church in Hay Lane South, Braintree. I also live close to Great Notley’s Country Park.
I have an extensive food and drink menu, catering for a wide range of dietary requirements, including vegetarians and vegans.
Please contact me if you wish to see a copy of my Childminder Prospectus which contains full details of my setting and the service I provide.

I am also completing a Forest School leaders (level 3) qualification with the intention of becoming an outdoor orientated setting, at the moment we visit local wood, nature reserves etc but hope to find a site we can use on a regular basis.
